My son eats a bowl of ice cream almost every day and when our OXO scoop broke after two years of use I got this one as a replacement. A little iffy as the OXO was a good scoop (although there were issues with water gripping it when washed in the dishwasher). This one is MUCH BETTER! It even scoops very hard ice cream without having to rinse it under hot water first. It's one piece so water doesn't drip off the handle like OXO does when I take it out of the dishwasher. And because it's so easy to scoop, we didn't lose sight of the soft OXO grip either. I'm very glad I switched to this design!
