Last Christmas I got a set for shaving with a safety razor. The blades provided us with tomur, which I hated and ruined the experience. I searched and searched stores for double edge razor blades but found nothing but cheap store bought razor blades that could be very good but weren't of much value. I went online and searched for blades and there were tons of options. I ordered one of the test kits which was very interesting to say the least. Most of the blades are made in Russia, Pakistan, Bangladesh etc. which struck me with the concern for quality. Of all the blades I tried, I noticed that the variables were the angle, pitch, bevel, and sharpness of the steel. This Gillette set was the most perfect of the bunch. They were also incredibly sharp, but they were only good enough for one shave. As for my personal tendency to shave, others have pulled, tugged, or left nicks or cuts. This Gillette set is made in Russia but it's pretty much as good as any Gillette product I've ever used. I prefer it because it offers a very stable shave, the mild steel is good for four shaves without irritating the skin. I have found that harder steel tends to last longer but may not be as sharp as I prefer for a comfortable shave. The quantity of this product is enough for 1 year, so I recently ordered 100 more blades in bulk. I would recommend this to any beginner or anyone with a safety razor. I think this is a very good medium for all the many confusing options. Gillette really is the best a man can get, in my opinion.
