Perfect for Carry-On Travel!

I love visiting my parents, but I usually end up leaving with some extra "treasures" that take up room in my suitcase (anyone else find themselves getting Christmas ornaments, old toys, and other random items every time they visit their parents? Just me? Cool, cool). I hate having to check a bag for flights, so I like to travel with a carry-on suitcase, which can be a little tricky when the weather is colder. I usually can only fit a couple sweaters into my suitcase, so I figured I'd give these a shot since I was going to be gone for about 12 days and wanted to bring more than 3 sweaters. Plus, I needed to make room for the extra things that my parents were going to load me up with.Anyway, I ended up buying these to help flatten my clothes. I've tried the "rolling" technique and the storage cubes, but I was trying to up my packing game. Without the storage bags, I had an overflowing half-suitcase. Once I put my stuff in the bags (I bought the small bags), I had room for even more stuff on top! I love that it comes with the handheld pump, in case I find myself traveling somewhere without a vacuum. A couple things to note:1. I'm not sure if it's going to be an issue at TSA. If they ask to open it, you'll certainly be stuck at security, vacuuming your bags shut again.2. I bought the small bags (16"x24") and I was able to fit 2 bags into one-half of my suitcase. I'm not sure if the medium bags would fit as well into a carry-on bag.3. Once you vacuum the bags well, they become inflexible bricks. You can't shape the bags much after they're sealed. My recommendation would be to put your stuff in the bags, then place them into your suitcase, side-by-side. THEN you seal them with the pump. Otherwise it's hard to get them to fit together.4. I was able to fit 3 sweaters and 3 sports bras in one bag, and in the other bag I had 1 t-shirt, 2 long-sleeve shirts, 2 tank tops, 3 pairs of leggings, and 1 pair of jeans. There was probably room for a little more stuff in the first bag, but I don't think I ever would've been able to fit 8 sweaters into a small bag, as they claim. They would need to be pretty thin sweaters.5. I panicked a little bit when I received the package because it said "SMALL" but then the dimensions had a sticker over it, with the medium bag dimensions (28x20) and I knew that wouldn't work for my carry-on. Fortunately, when I opened the package, the 3 bags inside were all the correct small dimensions (16x24).I can't wait to travel with these, especially in the winter months! They will be great if I ever need to travel with bulky clothes!

Pros
  • ‎Jumbo
Cons
  • The bags may cause clothes to become misshapen or distorted over time
