This case is definitely the best USB C 3.1 Gen 2 case I've ever seen. The case is made entirely of aluminum, unlike other cases that are partially made of plastic. This is the only SATA 2.5 SSD enclosure made entirely of metal. Hard drives, as well as 2.5-inch SSDs, tend to be larger, and the SSD is unsecured and is usually only held by a SATA connection. This is not optimal and can cause the driver to rattle internally. Designed to efficiently dissipate the heat generated by 2.5" SATA SSDs, this Vantec aluminum SSD is physically bolted to the chassis, making it secure and increasing contact. with heat-dissipating aluminum. I use it for a 4TB Sandisk hard drive. A bonus feature is a physical toggle that lets you burn the disc only. That's really important to me. I use it with a MacBook Pro with Catalina. I formatted it with APFS encryption and the drive is still pretty fast. Highly recommended! I liked it so much that I bought two cases.
