    3.5 " hard drive enclosure, USB 3.0 - SATA Aluminum External hard drive enclosure with integrated fan

    The enclosure is very easy to use - just open the door, insert the hard drive and you're done! Quiet and blows air through the front grille. The device connected to my 2017 21.5" iMac with no problems. It fits my 3.5 inch hard drive with plenty of space in the front. My 2.5" hard drive is plugged in directly but NO SUPPORT for the hard drive enclosure. If you stand it up vertically, the 2.5-inch drive can fall completely out of the bay (I haven't tested this possibility). If you move it…

    Terrible mounting screws decent hardware

    They say a picture is worth a thousand words but the picture I posted says only one word - B*** -! The mounting screws that came with the unit are so poorly made and of such poor quality steel that I tore off one of them in the hard drive's mounting hole when I turned it by hand. Now I'm stuck with a hard drive that can't use a specific mounting pattern in any other device because the screw head goes into a threaded hole.     No more disk space warnings from Windows!

    I have an external dock/clone station that I used to back up Windows files to one of my old 1TB hard drives and it looks like it's a dust collector. It takes up less than half the space and looks twice as good! The fan is quiet and feels comfortable. The red "on" LCD turns blue when data is received and the off button is easily accessible. Backing up all my files almost filled the 1TB drive by half. No wonder Windows kept talking about a backup location! And like a Zoom meeting, it's disabled…

    Great case, you need an adapter!

    This is a high quality hard drive case. Note that the description states that the case supports both 2.5" and 5.25" hard drives. While drives of both sizes will fit, there is no adapter bracket to support smaller 2.5-inch drives. So if you are using 2.5" hard drives, you will need to purchase an adapter bracket to properly support the drive in the enclosure. 5.25 inch rims fit well.

    Good housing for a 3.5 " drive, but not so good for a 2.5 " drive

    Bought 4 pieces. There it said that this is a case for 2.5 and 3.5 inch drives. For 3.5" drives, that's great. Place the 4 screws provided on the drive and connect it. It looks very solid and I like the fan with a manual on/off switch. It's also nice that you can put the drive on its side with the built-in feet. While you can fit a 2.5-inch drive in the case, there's nothing to secure it. and always keep it level, you may be fine but you'll never get it on its feet. The disc can simply fall…

    Great case and a small offer from the manufacturer to create extra ventilation

    First of all for the good. I have a Western Digital Black 7200 hard drive that gets pretty hot in a fanless case. Works well and cool in this one. I can not complain. Suggestion to the manufacturer: the air intake is on the wide side and the exhaust on the back, which is good and should stay. Below are legs. Instead of legs, there should be ventilation holes. I like assembling hard drives and the side vents keep them cool. If so, I would rate it a 5.

    Effectively reducing drive temperature - 3.5 " mount is far from perfect - 2.5 " mount is not acceptable

    I just got a review so the review is based on first impression. Securing screws on the bottom of the drive. Then insert the stand into the slot of the bracket and plug the drive forward into the SATA connector. It probably fits 90% of all hard drives, but my drive is a Seagate Exos 10TB, which has slightly longer screw holes. The front set next to the plug worked fine, but the back set didn't line up with the keyholes in the holder, so I just installed the front set of spacers. Everything…

    A few bucks more but great case

    Requires a lock to keep the hard drive in place. Uses a 3/4 inch square foam block wrapped with tape in the bottom right corner. An L-angle with an extended slot and a screw would be the best solution. Not a fan of the closet door lock because it only opens once in a while. Updated review addition: 4 mtg HDD shoulder screws found in the box to hold the HDD in place in the keyhole slots inside the case, eliminating the need for an L-Bracket and foam. spacers.

    Failed after 3 months

    Received this in March and it worked fine until the end of May. Then this month (June) it completely stopped working. I used this case with a WD 8TB NAS and connected it to an Ubuntu server. Pros: Looks cool and the fan is very quiet. Liked the pivoting legs/stand. Installation was quick and easy.     I bought this to mount a 2.5" BarraCuda drive that first came in a LaCie case. The LaCie USB-C failed almost immediately and I was unable to access the drive to erase my data. So I opened LaCie with a CHISEL a la YouTube and ejected the disc, which was fine. The BarraCuda 5TB is 15mm high, which doesn't fit in standard 2.5" SATA enclosures, so I had to get an enclosure designed for both 2.5 and 3.5 drives.
