Review on 📦 FIDECO 3.5/2.5-Inch Hard Drive Enclosure Case with Fan, USB 3.0 to SATA Adapter for HDD & SSD External Hard Drive - Supports 16TB with UASP by Julio Fernandez

Received this in March and it worked fine until the end of May. Then this month (June) it completely stopped working. I used this case with a WD 8TB NAS and connected it to an Ubuntu server. Pros: Looks cool and the fan is very quiet. Liked the pivoting legs/stand. Installation was quick and easy. Cons: The tool-less install is faster, but I still prefer screwing my drives in for stability. At first I thought it was the drive, so I tested it on my desktop with a USB->SATA adapter and it worked fine. Then I thought it was the cable so I tried a few others. At first it seemed to be fixed, but soon it failed again. Then I thought it must be a problem with UASP or Ubuntu itself. Finally, I tried a new case from a different brand and the drive worked as expected. If I had to guess, it's the USB port that went wrong. I knew it was dead when Ubuntu couldn't mount it and when Windows was connecting and disconnecting every second (it didn't stay connected long enough to open the drive in explorer).
