I wear these water shoes when I launch my boat and they replace my old nylon sneakers that took forever to dry. I get protection from the shore/wharf or whatever is in the water when I park my boat and when they get wet they run off much better than old shoes. I wouldn't wear them on a long hike, but they're comfortable enough around the house, lake, or stream. The only downside is that they are a bit big (maybe very big for some people). You can tighten the elastic laces for a snug fit, but first find a pair that's as close to your shoe size as possible.
