This fan was installed for me by a professional electrician as he installed all the fans in my house. He said this is the default; It took him about an hour to remove the existing fan and then assemble it. The bulbs supplied with the fan are not dimmable. So if you plan to use it with a dimmer, use other bulbs. This fan does not come with a remote control, which surprised me. An aftermarket remote control kit is available but for a fan at this price point I think the remote should be included as I found it very handy in the bedroom. The blades of the blades are double sided, one light and one dark, I chose the dark side so that it is visible and very attractive. The lamp's amber cover adds diffused light. The fan drives the air as it should, at all speeds. I probably won't need the inverse function since I live in a tropical climate and don't have cold weather. Overall I am happy with this fan.
