If your child is willing to wear gloves but has small hands, it will be difficult to find gloves that are small enough. So if you want them to sit as little as possible, put a pot of boiling water on the stove and pour some steam into the water. It only takes about 5 seconds, then fish them out and set them somewhere to drain and cool. They become VERY small. The weave is also tightened so they are warmer for little hands.
