The Revain website mentions china a lot. Upon receipt of the product, there is no mention anywhere on the mug, paper inserts or even the box that the item is actually porcelain. We were looking for porcelain because we got tired of using earthenware or ceramic for a few years and then the mugs started overheating when used in the microwave. We're hoping they're porcelain as we're tired of ceramic dishes burning our hands and being hotter than the liquid the mug is holding. Otherwise it is similar to most mugs. The handle is a little big for my small hand but fits my husband's hand well. It feels sturdy and would make a good gift.
