My ankles and lower legs swell up when I stand or sit for too long. I think it's a side effect of the medication I have to take. I hate wearing shorts when my ankles are swollen. These anti-embolic stockings that we cover (and are probably called TEDS by everyone) are a lighter version of the stockings you get in the hospital, but they still provide some much-needed compression and support for the legs. Because they are lighter, they are easier to put on and take off. Unfortunately, I ordered it in a size that was a bit too big for me. They fit my ankles and shins and that's the big part. But they are too loose on my hips. So they keep falling on my thighs. I still wear them at night if need be.
