Here, ladies and gentlemen, how to make a high-quality, clean, high-tech IP camera: - Sturdy metal body and bracket - Excellent picture quality day and night - A high quality connector with a long enough pigtail ---- With an activity LED for Ethernet and the DC connector has a connector! - No stupid service subscriptions or unwanted web access) - No apps required - No hidden open ports - No suspicious traffic - Full control over browser-based configuration menu with many options ---- It's even ready to stream directly to Youtube- Browser-based HTML5 video player , no insecure and outdated Flash or Active-X plugins - Excellent management of users with different access rights. There are really only two features I would like to see make it perfect: - Open source firmware or active flash support (one can dream) - Micro SD slot for internal recording. I always find it a great backup. The quality is excellent. Everything is neat inside. If something is loose inside, it's a silica gel bag placed behind the electronics. There is also a temperature sensor glued to the body, which I have NEVER seen on a camera in this price range. The processor has a passive heatsink, although I doubt it does anything there. But it shows effort. The front part, which is held in place by four screws (but more on that later), is attached to the body with a thick silicone gasket. That's impressive, often just a thin O-ring to save on a specific part. The only point of criticism are the four exposed Phillips screws on the front. That's all it takes to open the camera (which I did). To replace it with something more tamper resistant (and stainless steel): They're M2x8 and also happy with some threadlock. To be fair, the first two are somewhat hidden, and quite difficult to get back. BUT ON IT! I recommend removing the logo. It comes off with some acetone. This is the best unbranded Chinese camera I've ever tested. Warning: Some knowledge is required for proper setup. This is not an easy product! Feel free to read my other security camera reviews.
