I've been wearing short walking shoes for almost two months and these socks have made them bearable. I like everything about them. They are thick, resilient, and smooth inside and out. They stay on their own but I usually wear thin golf underneath for more protection. It also serves to hold in place some of the pads I tuck in between my socks. They are a good length for short boots, reaching to the knee and getting a little shorter after washing (I hang them to dry). I found the low version. this sock a bit too low for my boot. I can't talk about wearing tall boots. I tried longer boot socks but they were thinner and rougher on the inside. Like all boot socks, they attach to Velcro, but who cares? Overall I highly recommend them.
