The extra batteries will get very warm and could catch fire if they are taken out of the package and placed touching each other. I worked somewhere that we sold Christmas sweaters that used these same batteries. Someone at a different location put them all in a bag together and a fire started.The battery packs are a bit bulky but I guess that they have to be with what batteries these take. I was very impressed that they came with 4 extra batteries.
