Bought to replace a similar foam set. Having played with this for the first time with my 3 year old I am so glad I have it with designs on the front as it helps her line up the letters correctly which is helpful when she is learning letters. Her other set was smooth on both sides, and the letters would often flip and I would have to flip them back. So she automatically knows which side is in front. Plus they are so cute with patterns! The price was similar to the regular ones so I would definitely recommend them.
