Absolutely LOVE THIS ITEM! I ordered SMALL for my 9 lb toy poodle and it fits perfectly. I do NOT put fur baby clothes in the dryer, I lay everything out on a flat surface to dry. I've washed it about 10 times since I got it and the fabric is still as great as it has been since I first used it on my little one. The fabric of this item is GREAT QUALITY and I get compliments on this outfit all the time during our outings. The delivery was VERY FAST, but I have "AMAZON PRIME". I would recommend this cute outfit and it is suitable for both female and male dogs. I can't speak for a cat as I don't have one. I made a small slit in mine BUT it would definitely be better if it already had a linen hole with a hem around it so you don't tear a big hole by making the slit/small incision yourself.
