I didn't necessarily receive these stencils for painting but as a background for mixed media postcards and collages. When making postcards, many manufacturers have found many ways to use stencils. Whether it's coloring with markers or paints, they also have different types of thick pastes that can add a three-dimensional effect to a card or collage. I tried using a gouache color stencil and messed it up. The stencils are not to blame, but rather the ones with the brush in their hands. If you have a child with learning disabilities, or a child who is simply struggling to create letters, numbers, or simple patterns like squares and triangles, having access to these templates can be extremely helpful to them. Don't force them to use them, but have them ready after you've shown them how to use them. Someone might think this is some kind of 'cheat', I'm not. Anything that helps a child grow and do what they want is a great opportunity for them to access.
