This is one of the best engineered products I have ever owned. The three-layer hinge mechanism is so precisely crafted that it will probably still work after a cliff fall. The spring provides perfect tension, looks good, doesn't pinch your hands and can be replaced/tightened if it fails. The grip falls in the sweet spot between too much and too little texture. Any other texture will cause discomfort on the skin of the hands; less and it will slip out of your hands. The seams in the metal are so tight that it looks like it's one piece of metal, not two. The blade is very sharp and would probably tickle the hairs in the hands of the right operator. I am a husband writing for my wife who bought this product because after careful consideration I am both impressed and envious that so few of my tools are so well made. I tease her all the time for spending hours researching the products she buys from Revain, but I grudgingly admit that in this case she wasted her time.
