This 19 inch PIXEL ring light is a definite improvement over the basic ring lights I've tested in the past. This kit has everything you need to light up your photo or video projects, including some things I never expected to be so useful like a remote control to change color temperature/brightness and a photo clicker to snap photos record remotely. This ring light doesn't have a cheap universal on/off and dimmer switch like some traditional ring lights I've seen. An on/off toggle switch is used for power, and then the rotary knob is used to control brightness as well as color temperature. The rear display shows all the necessary information about these settings. The color temperature covers a wide range and the brightness can be reduced to just under 1% of the maximum brightness. A disadvantage for me were the white front lenses. Since the ring lamp can change color temperature as you turn the dial, I see no need for the removable lenses that this lamp has. I would have preferred a solid, non-detachable front lens so I don't have to worry about them falling off. (Extra colored lenses not included) Camera mount accessories attach to this light in a strange way. There is a plastic groove into which the fasteners are inserted. While that plastic slot looks pretty strong and durable, a heavy camera can wreak havoc on the plastic. I would suggest if you are using a super heavy camera, use a different camera tripod and shoot through the light ring on the back. The included hardware is a solid metal construction. The included lighting stand comes with 3 extendable sections to elevate the light, and there is a 1/4" screw on the top of the stand that allows the stand to be used without the lighting. (The camera can be mounted directly on top of the stand. Stand) The included AC adapter comes with a fairly long power cord, and the use of a right-angle barrel connector prevents the connector from being pulled out accidentally or by gravity. (next to the stand) there is no pocket to store accessories. So I have to store a box of accessories or use a zippered bag to keep everything together. A simple little pocket in the middle of the bag would be great The idea of placing all your accessories in the center of the light ring hole Pros: Color temperature can be changed by turning the dial for most uses consistent with similar styles. The tripod can be used alone without the light attached. A remote control for changing settings and a photo clicker are great additions. The remote can also control other lights (by changing the channel and frequency) Cons: The plastic slot for attaching the camera mount may break over time or weight. White lentils can be chipped off easily. My remote for changing the settings must be defective as it seems to turn itself on from time to time, draining the battery quicker than I was hoping. (I just stick a piece of paper in the battery compartment when I'm done with the kit for the day.)
