Review on Naturehike 45L Internal Frame Hiking Backpack - Ideal for Outdoor Camping, Travel, and Backpacking for Men by Ryan Person

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Initial rating (will be updated later)

Initial rating (will be updated after several trips): Have size 40+5L. For my setup, 60+5 liters would be too much. My gear fills up where the roll-top is when fully folded/folded, leaving me plenty of room to travel as I pack more (including gear for multi-day hikes, all inside the pack, nothing strapped outside). You get a roller bag made of durable 420d nylon at a great price. Basically this is a UL economy backpack, some would say it's an affordable version of Hyperlite or Zpacks. The durability is there, and it only weighs about a pound more than $300-$400 DCF bags. There are many things to enjoy in a bag, but I'll talk more about the main cons. Cons: - There is no chest strap on the 40L. That worried me. Why wasn't it at 40L when it says 60L? I just ordered an aftermarket strap to fit so let's see how it goes. The hip belt pockets are tiny. I have a Google Pixel 4a and without a case it doesn't fit in the hip belt pockets and this is a relatively small phone. A pocket can only fit a wallet and a lip balm or maybe a Clif bar. Just frustrated because he wouldn't even add more than a few ounces just to make the back pockets bigger. It's more of a deal, but just so anyone who uses smart water bottles knows: a 1L smart water bottle doesn't EFFICIENTLY fit in a shoulder bag. You have to WORK to get it there while hiking. Yes, it technically fits, but don't expect to ski down the trail and it's easy to toss your bottle of SW in there. However, smaller water bottles fit well in the bag (among other common accessories), but as I use a Sawyer squeeze filter with the 1 liter SW bottles, this annoyed me as the side pockets on the pack are not easy to reach when the backpack is full complicated . you decide. Again, yes, you can technically reach backwards while walking and remove/replace your large water bottles from your side pockets, but your arm and shoulder need to have elastic to reach them. That being said, I've just ordered a large water bottle bag to replace the one that Naturehike supplied. All in all, I'm keeping the packaging at least until the end of the year. The issues I mentioned were the only things I noticed during the short 6 mile hike I did when I had my backpack on. For $80 it's hard to beat. I think with the additional accessories I ordered the total would still be under $100. Fits comfortably, although the waistbelt straps feel like their padding could have been lengthened slightly in the middle (very subjective). And the elastic pocket on the front of the backpack is great. I just put things in that I don't want to dig into the backpack.
