Reliably withstands high loads, better than other significantly more expensive mounts!

When used with a heavy DSLR and a 600mm medium format lens, this 52mm ball head weighs approximately 13lbs. Initially I didn't think the ball head would work with my heavy rig so I first bought a Benro GH2 pendular mount which was pretty good but had some resonant vibrations and I also had issues with my long 300mm arc plate ( which carries the lens and camera in 3 places) hit the base of the stabilizer mount when tilted up, causing the stabilizer to not work. I then tried an Acratech pan/tilt head which costs five times the price of an Innorel 52mm and although it was well made it had too much vibration. With a 600mm lens on an APSC camera with an effective focal length of 900mm, you really want as little vibration as possible! have a great Innorel tripod) and the ball head is ABSOLUTELY STRONG - I literally can't believe how well it holds my heavy rig. When the friction lock is fully tightened, this mount does NOT vibrate AT ALL with the lens attached (it usually "rings" or vibrates when you tap a mount like mine, like the other two mounts I've tried). Not so with Innorel, it looks like the whole setup is literally bolted to the tripod. The head itself is very nicely done - finish wise I don't think it could be better. The friction lock works well with my *balanced* gearing, but of course you have to be careful not to loosen it too much under heavy loads, and the pan base rotates smoothly. I use this head on an Innorel RT90C carbon fiber tripod and am very happy with both the tripod and the mount! knows :)
