Difficult to turn the crown without much effort

I only give 3 stars because. That should be a good tripod head. But it's very difficult to turn. It feels like some kind of glue is interfering with its rotation. So I put a wd-40 on the bottom spinning wheel and let it spin by hand. After several attempts, the wheel will begin to spin freely. I removed the 3 screws on the bottom, removed the spinning wheel and cleaned the grease inside, and put the screws back in (not too tight). After about an hour of my work, it works very well.

Reliable but doesn't fit my L-Bracket

The product is solid and I like the look of it. I bought it together with the INNOREL RT-90C carbon fiber tripod. However, my problem with the tripod head is that my L-type RRS mount doesn't fit smoothly. I force it with my hands to make it fit. If it could open a few millimeters more that would be perfect. I'm considering returning it as I don't feel justified in forcing it. Too bad because I love everything else.

Great value for money

As a retired mechanical engineer, I care about the quality and value of mechanical products. This product is great value and appears to be of excellent quality. If my rating changes after use, I will update this review. The manufacturer changed the quick release plate configuration immediately after I received this unit to accommodate quick release plates from 1/4" to 3/8". Mine came with 1/4" quick release plates. I would welcome a 3/8" option given this unit's 66lb load capacity. I have…

N52 Ball Update - Tripod Heads

Returned because the ball was not moving smoothly. I called it "trash" in my original review. No, that is not so. There was one major defect, but it's anything but junk. UPDATE: The seller got back to me right away, apologized for the problem and - you're sitting - offered to replace it with a newer updated N55 model without asking for free. He also said there would be an additional "gift". The package arrived today. The ball is fantastic, as is the throw-in object, which I'd rather not name. I

Great build

The build quality of this ballhead is comparable to expensive big brands but 6X cheaper than 1/7X. No sharp edges, perfect anodizing and smooth head movement. The adjustment knob is large enough and smooth enough that you can set the tension to your liking, or if you want to hold on to hard rock, just twist the knowledge a little more. (FYI: no voltage adjustment knob - third knob in some pics online - I don't use that feature anyway and you can use the main knob for the same purpose). The Arca

Nearly perfect. for Camera and Photo

This should actually be a 4.5 rating. It's really good, but not perfect. I will compare it to the RRS BH-55 that I already have. This ball head is smaller, probably BH-40 size. I can get it to wiggle when fully locked, but it takes quite a bit of effort. Used it on a studio arm with a fully loaded D850 hung on a Nikon 70-180, 1:1 with extra diopter. The mirror is up, no problem. He was tough and did everything right. I haven't used it with my 70-200, but I expect there won't be any problems…

Feels good, fairly durable

I always ignore reviews that make first impressions straight out of the box, but here I do just that. Background: I'm a semi-professional shooter, I have a 25- mm ball head used on my old trusted Manfroto 3021 tripod with Manfrotos quick release which is about 18 years old. I recently shot a night panorama and was unhappy with the stability of this setup. My old ball head was a budget pro product at a mid range price. This new ball head is about 2/3 the price (and that's in 2000's money!). The…

Decent ball head with commendable customer service

I bought this ball head over 3 months ago. I found that the Arca-Swiss backing plate attached to the ball head could not be removed, which prevented me from installing some hardware directly onto the ball head. Wrote a complaint to the company, no answer. The ball head is pretty solid (so far) and can handle an 8-pound weight at a 45-degree incline with no issues. Last week I received an email from a company apologizing for the late reply because a message I sent was accidentally "ignored" due…

Pros
  • Tripod heads
Cons
  • Some problems

When used with a heavy DSLR and a 600mm medium format lens, this 52mm ball head weighs approximately 13lbs. Initially I didn't think the ball head would work with my heavy rig so I first bought a Benro GH2 pendular mount which was pretty good but had some resonant vibrations and I also had issues with my long 300mm arc plate ( which carries the lens and camera in 3 places) hit the base of the stabilizer mount when tilted up, causing the stabilizer to not work. I then tried an Acratech pan/tilt…
