Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nearly perfect. for Camera and Photo

This should actually be a 4.5 rating. It's really good, but not perfect. I will compare it to the RRS BH-55 that I already have. This ball head is smaller, probably BH-40 size. I can get it to wiggle when fully locked, but it takes quite a bit of effort. Used it on a studio arm with a fully loaded D850 hung on a Nikon 70-180, 1:1 with extra diopter. The mirror is up, no problem. He was tough and did everything right. I haven't used it with my 70-200, but I expect there won't be any problems with this lens either. Apparently they copied the RRS bullet motion pattern for the head overlay. It's nice. There are two negatives that bother with 5 stars. It doesn't have a pull handle. I didn't realize how nice and important it was to use this pen until I got it. That means I have to be a bit more careful with this head. Also, the bottom of the pot is stiffer than I like. Very brave. Will he be free? I do not know. Curiosities:. Before installing, I put a long 3/8 screw in to get a feel for the quality of the thread. The bolt is fully inserted into the ball. This was odd and of course limited the bullets' ability to move. Keep that in mind if you're installing it in weird remote work locations and you end up with a screw that's too long.

Rock solid with a heavy load, better than other much more expensive mounts!
