Review on 🌑️ PT Auto Warehouse R126 - High-Quality Radiator Cap, 16 PSI: Ensuring Optimal Cooling Performance by John Finley

Taiwan isn't Japan

Long story but I blew up my engine and ended up with another working Civic to swap engines from to restore my preferred engine to working condition . The cooler was better on the donor, but a new cover was needed because. its rubber seal was broken, and another radiator's cap didn't fit. I assumed both radiators were aftermarket and for some reason the cap fit issue. I was looking to buy a Stant radiator cap but unfortunately it's now a Chinese part so the R126 looked like the best I was planning to make thanks to a reviewer here on Revain who implies the cap is made in Japan. Annoyingly the R126 label very misleadingly says JAPAN but apparently it is made in Taiwan by a company called FEW Electric Mfg Co Ltd or something like Electric Works so basically I ended up with a Chinese part from a SoCal company and I paid 4 times more for it than for the stant part. I couldn't drive a car without a radiator cap and a genuine Honda part would be at least a few days away so I gave up the country of origin and fitted the cap as the quality seems good. However, like the other reviewer, I had to put my cooler where the cap attaches, but I'm pretty sure it's the aftermarket ABS cooler, filler neck OD that's a bit oversized, and/or imperfect. Plans have changed so I haven't even started the engine since I installed the cap so I don't even know if it holds pressure at this point although I have no reason to believe it won't case is. I'll be back in 30 days or so. Update 6/20/2019 8:41 PM PT: Lid not holding pressure. I have requested a return so I don't miss the return window but will be keeping it until I fix the issue and am sure how much the R126 radiator cap is at fault. After driving on the freeway I smelled like coolant for about 5 minutes while idling so I checked it out. There is no visible leak, but the coolant level in the reservoir is below normal. Squeezing the upper radiator hose showed that the cap was not holding pressure as the coolant entered the reservoir. 92 EG8) that fit and seal perfectly. The R126 cover also did not fit the other Civic. Update 6/27/2019 10:38pm PDT fixed. I ordered a Stant 10242 which didn't work either, it was basically the same cap as the R126, same problems, fits snugly on the filler but won't close. Then I found out that there are two types of 90's Civic radiator caps, one for Toyo OEM radiator and the other for Denso OEM radiator. I don't remember the steps required, but they resulted in a Stant 10227 radiator cap that fitted and closed perfectly. Stant 10242 is made in China and Stant 10227 is made in Mexico.
