First of all, we really like these cradles. We have two of these and have been using them for our twins for 7 months now. We love all the safety features: down sheet/mattress with velcro closure, mesh sides, firm mattress. In them we trust a lot for the safety of our children. We only have two problems: First, we need more polyester sheets. We couldn't find them so we had to get cotton towels which shrink when using hot water or a dryer. Second, as many have said, it is an insert in the mattress. Our children don't even weigh 15 kilos and the mattress is sagging = bad for the child's back. I was in the process of buying another mattress which would have meant sacrificing all of the safety features we love so much, but then my husband had a solution. He transferred the chipboard insert to the plywood, trimmed and rounded the edges, and it all works perfectly! It's still just as strong and fits snugly inside the foam sleeve. I don't know why this company doesn't make a better supplement, but hopefully this helps those of you considering this product.
