I bought the same bike rack YEARS ago. I'm not sure if it was the same company as it is now, but I really liked it then and I like it now. I've been looking for good vertical bike storage solutions for years as I don't have room for horizontal storage anywhere. Another reviewer said they used it that way, so I gave it a try. SO HAPPY I MADE IT! My only suggestion: don't collect while listening to music or especially with headphones! I did this and didn't hear the drywall in my ceiling crunch under the torque as I tightened it for the final pull. Ultimately that's fine as there is a support beam underneath which just created a crack and dent in the ceiling, but if you didn't have a support beam or bolt under that pressure I imagine it was pushing right through the ceiling would. It will definitely be a project that will fix this one day, but I have my own house and I plan on keeping it here for the long term. However, if you rent or try different places for it, this ceiling damage can be significant! It's not reflected in the product either, I just don't understand how it could be the result of such a heavy lift, the product is excellent. Looks good, does what it's supposed to. And all of you are looking for ways to store them upright. Here it is! I saw a post where a customer installed tire hooks. I felt it wasn't safe for my bike as it was almost impossible to adjust the hanger brackets so that there was no stress on the spokes. So I lowered mine to grab the frame's rear bar. I feel a lot better doing this as it's a much stronger contact point that doesn't drag the front tire/fork or set up/possibly break the spokes. Since the rear wheel, unlike the front wheel, is fixed in the frame, it does not twist when you lift it up or when it is lying there. Much luck!
