Like many, I jumped on the Cryonaut Heat Grizzly train. I've been using Cryonaut as my main paste from 2017 until now when I finally got fed up with how it doesn't last as long. I've had a few tubes of this and after a few months performance starts to drop as the paste dries out over time like dried toothpaste after application. It was about every 4-7 months that I had to reapply it. My last app was barely a month old with my 9900k and at the end of the month my steps were 4c higher than the original app. By the time I went to clean it to apply the master gel, like clockwork, the Chironaut's paste was already almost dry, like toothpaste. and saw that der8auer actually responded by saying that at around 80 degrees Celsius the cryonaut would start to decompose, dry out. This is well below the "-250°C / +350°C" range stated in the specification. I was also surprised because the highest temperatures my 9900k could reach was around 70 degrees at worst, 30 degrees below its maximum temperature. Games and everything else outside of Prime95, 40-60c. idle up to 25s. After that I decided to look for a replacement and came across a Masters Mastergel Maker Cooler. I only found a few reviews about it but they were all positive and I read some comments about it on overclock.net and some other enthusiast websites. The general consensus of users who actually tried it was positive. Its durability proved to be second to none, and its performance seemed to rival that of a cryonaut after the cryonaut's first use. It's not as popular as other pastas, but it seems like it's not a well-known pasta that's actually very good. So I ordered it to try. And I'm glad I bought this paste. it's super easy to use. not thick, but not runny either, and you get that much of it compared to the little half-gram tubes from the cryonaut. Yes, the Kryonaut has a larger tube, but it's really expensive. The effectiveness of the Mastergel was at the highest level. fully equivalent to the performance of the Cryonaut's first application. I could say that Mastergel is better because my rates are actually about 2 degrees slower than Cryonout on first use, but that's within error for me. and more importantly, its durability has been excellent so far. it held tight with no sign of dryness or drop in performance. I liked it so much that I went ahead and super re-sticked it on my Gigabyte 2070. One "problem" I've seen with Mastergel is that it uses "nano-diamond particles" and some people were concerned that it would "scratch/abrade" the CPU/GPU die with bare particles just like other popular ones Pastes based on "nano diamonds”. . I couldn't find anyone complaining that this actually happened to them with this pasta, I could only find concerns about it. I've seen the cooler master go out of his way to explain and emphasize that it doesn't "corrode" and that he recommends using it on "CPUs, GPUs, and chipsets". However, I was a bit worried about it and decided to test it first on an old GPU I had. I thoroughly cleaned the crystal and heatsink to be pristine and applied a fair amount of Mastergel with the "X" pattern. screwed up his cooler and then took it off to check. After cleaning, I examined it carefully and found no scratches, holes or anything else on it. it was an almost perfect mirror. completely flawless. nothing on the heatsink, nothing on the GPU dies. I then decided to be more aggressive in that regard and decided to go crazy with the spatula that came with it. I applied a massive drop and went to town with a spatula. I agitated the paste like scrambled eggs, slapping it, jabbing it, putting your thumb on the top and pressing hard to agitate it etc., then I cleaned it with pre-soaked wipes, rubbing harder than usual this time. and absolutely nothing to death. it was perfect. After that I felt confident enough to use it on my 2070 Super and I'm glad I did. I hit 2-3c. I just can't recommend Mastergel's creator enough. This is a great pasta and deserves more credit. I love it.
