Review on Denso 234 9023 Fuel Ratio Sensor by Nick Winnett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works best on 2001 RAV4 in terms of air to fuel ratio

Works great on 2001 Toyota Rav4. Sensor 1 position 1 is suitable (in the USA it is the top sensor on the driver's side). I first read the trouble codes with a Scangauge II, bought the appropriate oxygen sensor, replaced it, cleared the code and have had no problems since. previously the Rav would stumble very badly under acceleration and not much power. A week later I took out the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor and cleaned it with MAF sensor cleaner because the scanner gave me 2 new codes for lean mixtures. I used half a can for this sensor. I cleared the codes and haven't seen them since. Rav is running great now. I'm going to take the injectors out and clean them because the car has over 80,000 miles so I know they need to be cleaned. I've found that depending on your environment, you should clean the MAF every few years as air filter lint and other contaminants can build up on it. maf is actually a combination of maf and iat. I have pictures but I'll post them later. By the way, Scangauge2 works great and is worth the money. Oh, the Rav gets 29 mpg on the freeway with 55 psi tires. I'm curious what I get with clean injectors. I'll probably clean the throttle body when I remove the injectors, I'm sure it's necessary.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Not bad but...
