Good: -- HEATS FAST: The station heats up very quickly. -- MELTS SOLDER WELL: Using one of the included larger soldering tips will melt the solder and form puddles. (see videos). -- COMES WITH MULTIPLE PIECE OF SOLDER -- INDICATORS EASY TO UNDERSTAND STATUS: The digit scrolls as you adjust and moves to your desired setting when released, and a flashing LED notifies you when it's balanced. - GOOD PRICE: But in my opinion it's not worth getting easily burned. Bad: -- VERY BAD, NO HOT IRON SHIELD! There's no protection around the hot iron when it's placed in the holder, so you won't burn yourself if you touch it. I already burned my hand testing it for this review. Installing a spiral protection is as easy and inexpensive as most other fire protection stations. There is no excuse for his absence. For this reason alone it is not recommended. -- THE IRON WILL NOT HOLD SECURELY: In addition, the iron will not be held securely in place and a hit to the cord, for example, could cause the iron to bounce and burn you if your hand is near. - EASY TO BREAK THE HEATING ELEMENT: A ceramic element is inserted in the center of the iron tip. Changing the tip exposes the ceramic element and the fragile ceramic can crack if the iron is dropped and hit against the element. Watch the tip replacement video. -- VERY LIGHT: The station is so light that the power cord pulls it off the table. The power cord must be secured or placed to prevent this. Light weight may indicate long-term reliability. -- SECURE FEET: Feet on the bottom of the unit allow the station to slide easily across the table, contributing to the light weight mentioned above. The weight of the power cord lifts the iron off the table. -- NO REEL HOLDER INSTRUCTIONS: I was very confused by using extra parts. There is nothing in the instructions. It wasn't until I looked at the photos on the website that I realized it was a solder reel. -- ROLL HOLDER MADE EASILY: The roll holder slides out to the side and is held in place with just one screw. A small slip easily detaches from the bracket. Better not to attach. -- NO SPONGE SUPPLIED: The machine I received did not have a sponge to clean the soldering iron tip. -- DID NOT HEAT THE 22 AWG WIRE: I tried soldering a resistor to the 22 AWG wire, but the iron didn't put out enough power to heat the wire enough to melt the solder. - TIP WILL NOT LEAK SOLDER: After a few uses, the tip will stop leaking solder. I have a 30 year old Weller soldering iron/tips that still work great. If you found this review helpful, please rate it as helpful by clicking the button below. Thank you!
