UPDATE:I am sorry to say that after first use of these gloves, I must change my review from positive to negative. The problem is the mittens/glove interior smells like petroleum. I tried soaking them, washing them, drying them carefully. The smell remains. If I wear them even 20 minutes, my hands smell nasty. It's a harsh chemical odor.I didn't notice other reviewers complaining so hopefully this isn't true for all the product. But for me it was a regrettable experience._____________________________________________________My jaw dropped when I opened the box because I thought these mittens would be cheaply made since the price is low.Well they look great! The leather palm is a nice touch.I wanted some inexpensive winter mitts to use when I run the snowblower or shovel the walkway outside in the crazy winter conditions here in New England. Also I plan to use these as back up mittens on winter hikes. My only concern was that there is a glove liner inside and I generally prefer plan mittens so my fingers can touch. However the glove liner inside is soft and thin so it is comfortable to wear. I would prefer they were mitten liners inside the mitten outer shield. But I didn't see any product like that so I'll give these a try.The thumb has a little bit of extra length which creates a floppy end but I do think I got the right size overall. I ordered a large and generally the fit is good. There isn't too much bulk. They are lightweight yet offer a lot of coverage to keep your hands warm and dry.No gloves or mittens are invincible so having at least two pairs seems to be the best option if you are outside everyday. I'm glad I could find these inexpensive yet nice mittens.
