I can't say much about this XLR cable. Overall quality is excellent, and the fact that it's shielded helps keep interference to a minimum, as well as the hum I've heard before. Large cables are well protected by a thick rubber sheath. The gold plating on the 3.5mm plug says a lot about this XLR cable. The fact that the XLR end snaps into place is also a big plus. Stop worrying about muting microphones while recording. The XLR connector that came with my mic also snapped into place, but it took some effort to unplug the connector from the mic. The XLR connector on this cable connects securely to the microphone and is easy to remove after recording. It's just personal preference, but I also like the fact that even the XLR connector is black. Not that it makes a difference, but let me add that in the event of a repair, the connectors on each end of this cable will come apart slightly, and after looking at the solder joints in the cases, I can tell Cable Matters doesn't Save on this cable. . Highly recommended.
