Straight to the point, this does NOT CONNECT an XLR microphone (which requires no power) to an Android phone. I looked at the reviews and read some things that seemed to indicate it would be, but in fact it wasn't. This is not the seller's fault, the cable looks strong. The connection just doesn't work with the Android device. If you want to use an XLR microphone that does not require a power supply, you will need an XLR female to 3.5mm mono male cable and a TRS (female) to TRRS (male)…

I can't say much about this XLR cable! The overall construction of this cable is excellent.

I can't say much about this XLR cable. Overall quality is excellent, and the fact that it's shielded helps keep interference to a minimum, as well as the hum I've heard before. Large cables are well protected by a thick rubber sheath. The gold plating on the 3.5mm plug says a lot about this XLR cable. The fact that the XLR end snaps into place is also a big plus.
