The lock works mechanically. The electronics are a bit finicky. This is not your Android fingerprint or iPhone Touch ID. I would easily pay more dollars for a better fingerprint sensor. This works, but it may take a few tries before the enrolled fingerprint is recognized. Programming takes several tries as the sensor doesn't always read the fingerprint exactly as expected. Changing the mode also requires several attempts. The instructions are a little hard to follow, but there is a QR code for a YouTube video with demos showing programming and different modes. It took me about 10 minutes to set it up mechanically and at least another hour to program where I was sure the lock was working properly. 3 stars because it works, but deducted 2 because it's difficult to program and picky about how it recognizes a valid fingerprint.
