I try to avoid using plastics as much as possible both for my own health as well as the health of the planet. No, not a fanatic, but if you buy bottled water, chances are that at some point in the shipping they spent some time in a stifling hot truck or loading dock. Very likely molecules of the plastic container are released into the water and ultimately inside you. It may be minimal, but is compounded over time. No doubt you've read articles of the effect of plastics mimicking chemicals like estrogen and the effects it has on the body. Secondly, it always seemed like a terrible waste that so many mountains of plastic are created by the fad of buying bottled water and after a few gulps the container goes into landfills where it remains for eons of time, not breaking down. I first bought these Aquasana glass bottles years ago and loved them immediately. They are very thick and sturdy. I use them for a variety of fluids but water most of all. I have a three stage water filter mounted under my sink, also purchased from Aquasana, that I use to filter my drinking water; I fill a dozen of these bottles and keep them chilled. The can be put in the dish washer to sterilize them between uses or if you want to give them a scrubbing inside, the mouth is wide enough to fit a scrub brush inside. I still have my original bottles from maybe 8 years ago! If you need to replace the lids, they can be ordered separately from the company. Highly recommended!
