I made a custom kotatsu as a woodworking project and bought it for a heating element. So far it has worked great and I am very happy with it. I would recommend buying a buck converter as it assumes normal 100V usage. I haven't done this yet but since it has an adjustable heating knob I hooked up a power meter to see where the 500-600w was (rated for this model) and set the temp no higher. (This is near the number "3" on the handle). This strategy has worked well so far, but I'll buy a converter in the future so I don't have to worry about it in the future.
