Widespread power button failure and poor support - DO NOT BUY

I bought these when they first came out in June 2016 and they have worked very well. However, in January 2018, the power button began to malfunction. When the button is off, the device automatically turns on before my eyes and connects to my phone. It stays paired until it goes to sleep, then turns back on to pair - this cycle continues until the QC35's battery dies. The issue is easily reproducible when connected to any device - PC, Mac or iPhone. I can hear the QC35 turning on and showing battery life and auto pairing in the middle of the night. I emailed Bose to inquire about service options. Has the firmware been updated? Yes. did i reset? Yes. Have I taken good care of my product? Yes, they have been treated kindly and used indoors only. But the problem persisted until May 2018. A quick Google search and checking Revain reviews shows that this is a common problem among users. So I called Bose and asked for a replacement because of this common failure. They refused, citing an expired warranty, and offered to replace it with a QC35 II at a reduced price of $250. I protested the price I negotiated to $150 because if you look at the QC 35 II it's the same button design that failed. Do I have to spend $250 every year to have working headphones? I ended up giving up their services because I'm no longer sure of their quality. This will be the LAST Bose product I will buy. You expect a $350 flagship product to last over 1.5 years, right? And if the problem is a frequent one, rest assured that Bose will take responsibility and offer cheap or free repairs, especially on its flagship model. Do a quick search for "QC35 turns on by itself" and you'll see many posts with the same complaint. I also have a QC25 whose right earbud failed a year after purchase - this was also a common issue with reports around the world. the Internet. I am disappointed with Bose and cannot recommend them more to you and my family and friends due to the poor quality history.
