Replacement Kensington SlimBlade. Works better (I think)

I've been on this Reddit deep-dive trackball experience since I developed RSI in my right hand. Landed me on ambidextrous finger-balls (Expert, SlimBlade, etc). It actually fixed my RSI btw, if you're curious. First I stayed right-hand to adjust to the format, since it's so new from a mouse user. Then I switched to left-hand to relieve my right-hand pain (which had already subsided some), and I'm back to the races. Anyway. dropped the ball on accident, got scuffed real good. Made the SlimBlade…

Trackball buttons are a bit awkward but I love the keyboard.

Disclaimer - I'm not a very fast typist and generally only use my index fingers for typing. I bought this keyboard to see if I could minimize the motions when moving my hand from the keyboard to the mouse and back again. I had a trackball in the past and liked it so I thought I would give the all in one a try. After using the keyboard for a few days I can tell you I really like the feel of the keys. I'm still adjusting to the slightly different layout so I still have awkward moments when a key…

Heavy Duty Trackball

I purchased several of these trackball and/or touchpad style keyboards and this one is my favorite so far. Other models I purchased either had a small dinky trackball, non standard keys or an annoying ergo design. First thing I noticed about this one was the heavy duty trackball. The larger heavier ball seems to provide smoother movement with more precision. It isn't wireless but that's ok because it's one less thing to go bad. After using this at work for 2 weeks I've decided to purchase a…

First impression:Best keyboard I have owned so far. Love everything about it.I only regret not getting the fully lighted one, at the time it was more expensive so I didn't splurge.(I got the one with the light only on the scroll wheel which is almost a worthless feature.)I had wrist issues programming code due to mouse clicking.Solved, and no more issues with my wrist while at the computer!I highly recommend this item!________________UPDATE 2 YEARS LATER.Spacebar and Escape keys broke. Just what the doctor ordered

Needed an ergonomic solution to save my arm. Large responsive trackball embedded in the keyboard on the right means arm does not need to extend anymore using a mouse. Easy to use and has a scroll wheel and buttons just below it. Yes, this keyboard is pricey, but I will save money by not going to physical therapy. Bought the lighted version - love it. No guessing on the keys in dim light. The keys are "noisy (clicky)", with tall square keys with springs that create firm resistance (like they use

Relieved of arm and neck pain!

Great keyboard, love the clicky keys, but most of all the full querty keyboard + 10 key and integrated trackball mouse! I'm right handed and with my job at a computer all day I work a lot with a computer mouse, which was causing a lot of neck, shoulder, and arm pain. With this keyboard my arms can remain mostly stationary while working and so far I have noticed a great amount of relief. I only wish it were wireless.

Pros
  • Track ball is amazing and weighted!!!
Cons
  • Bulky design may not be suitable for smaller workspaces

Truly one of a kind.

I went into looking for a quality keyboard and mouse for my upcoming POWER9 workstation build. Although my requirements aren't particularly stringent, I expect a high level of quality in the construction and details of whatever peripherals I acquire. Given that desk space is at a premium, I decided to look around for any all in one style keyboard and mouse devices. After some time looking around, I came across the Periboard-522 from Perixx (specifically the non-backlit model) and was taken by…

Love this keyboard and trackball

After viewing the first review that came up that ripped this product, I hesitated in ordering this keyboard and trackball, but decided to get it. We are thrilled with its operation and the trackball is one of the smoothest and precise I have seen. I find the keystoke pressure to be perfect and it appears to be a very high quality product and worth the money. We always used another company's keyboard and small trackball, that usually ended up failing. Love the precision of this large one. My…

Perfect replacement for my wired Kensington expert gray ball. Smoother and quieter without impact to performance. No one else makes a compatible backup so I picked it up as a preemptive spare in case Perixx stops making these.Perfect fit, no issues with weird or sticky coating and didn’t need to rinse off like someone else in the comments had to do.Only con was that it was packaged in a paper bubble Mailer by the manufacturer and then packaged in a plastic bubble mailer by Walmart. Came out…

Nice Product best in my review

I purchased this "Perixx Peripro-304 Trackball, 2.17 Inch Large Replacement Ball" specifically to use in my, "Kensington Expert Trackball Mouse (K64325)". The reason is that I simply wanted a more colorful ball to replace the original charcoal colored ball that came in the Kensington mouse. I received the new red ball, and it very easily fit. The new one simply drops in. And the new red ball is functionally OK. But I have one reservation. The new red Perixx Peripro-304 size is listed as 2.17…

Great gaming keyboard for laptop

I love this keyboard. I researched keyboards for a while and am very happy with this purchase. My only suggestion for the next model would be to add more buttons around the trackball that could be used for additional hotkeys, configurable within the videogame.

Pros
  • Computers & Accessories
Cons
  • May not be suitable for gaming purposes due to limitations in customization and responsiveness

Works with Kensington Expert mouse

I needed a replacement trackball for one of my Kensington Experts, and this does indeed fit. It is slightly heavier than the original Kensington balls, which could be a good thing (or bad), depending on your personal preference. I personally like the more "massive" feel of it. I don't believe this would fit the older models (white, with no scroll ring); I think those require bigger balls (get your mind out of the gutter). I recommend it, I just wish there were more color options! I could see…

Overall: **NOT** worth the money for a professional

I bought this keyboard to make it easier to work while my arm is in a sling after surgery. My overall impression is that it is solid and well-built with good tactile sensitivity. When I received the box it rattled, and on opening it discovered that four keys had come off in shipping. Not a good sign but I was able to snap them back into place (with one arm) and went ahead and installed it.There are three indicator LEDs above the trackball for NumLock, CapsLock and ScrollLock. Turns out the Caps

I love the keyboard, but it probably isn't for everyone

This keyboard is a beast. It is heavy. The keys are stiff. It is what I like, but I can see it is not for everyone.I am surprised that I use the trackball as much as I do. I have always had a separate mouse alongside my keyboard. I have a 4-screen system, and I thought I would probably use the trackball just to quickly hop between the screens. But I have found that I hardly ever use my mouse since I have gotten used to this keyboard. Some other reviewers have said they don't like the placement…

The Perfect Keyboard!

For Backlight Features, activate MODE first (pages 11-13) then adjust using the Func+F11/Func+F12 keys. Unlike previous reviews, solid white is a color option. (see photo, which is deceiving because entire keyboard is appropriately backlit even though some keys look dark in photo)I write very few product reviews because little is important enough to me to share my experience and opinion. This keyboard is critical, so here goes. I have carpal tunnel and I have found it much improved after moving

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Trackball placement may make it difficult to access certain keys

Better bang for the buck for my trackball than the grey ball that comes with the Kensington Expert Wireless Trackball Wired Version

Pros
  • Easy to removed and clean the trackball by taping it from the bottom hole of the keyboard
Cons
  • No wrist rest included, leading to potential discomfort during extended use
