For Backlight Features, activate MODE first (pages 11-13) then adjust using the Func+F11/Func+F12 keys. Unlike previous reviews, solid white is a color option. (see photo, which is deceiving because entire keyboard is appropriately backlit even though some keys look dark in photo)I write very few product reviews because little is important enough to me to share my experience and opinion. This keyboard is critical, so here goes. I have carpal tunnel and I have found it much improved after moving to a keyboard with a trackball. I started with the other manufacturer's product available here on Walmart and used that keyboard for a few years. It was ok, but this Perixx product is FAR SUPERIOR in the following ways: it's significantly quieter with keystrokes; the trackball can be removed for cleaning; the trackball covers more territory/requires less effort to move the cursor. The key placement is a little different, but I found it easy to adapt. The right and left click pads are a bit more narrow than I would prefer, but the positives outweigh the negatives by far. So, if you're looking for a mechanical keyboard with a trackball, definitely purchase this Perixx instead of the other brand/model.
