The stand is quite strong. I tried it because it was cheaper than some others and I could return it if needed. So far, after using it for 3 weeks, I find myself using it more and more often. My iPad wouldn't fit in its case, but the stand holds the iPad very firmly so far so I'm not worried about extra protection. The only thing this is NOT suitable for is writing with the Apple Pencil with one hand. You should hold the iPad with one hand while writing with the other, as the stand wobbles a lot, making writing or drawing less accurate and prone to errors. Therefore 4 stars for the feature. 6 stars for versatility if I could. Good value for money!
