I've been using plastic drying balls for a few years and I think they work well. until I read the wool dry ball reviews and decided to give them a try. I am very satisfied with this product! They are quieter than plastic and of course healthier. They help clothes and towels dry better, just like any plastic drying ball. Best of all, the laundry is completely static-free, without the use of dryer sheets! And the bonus is that it does a better job of removing dog and cat hair from laundry. I would highly recommend them as a great replacement for plastic desiccant balls!
