It was easy to install. I just unscrewed the flashlight access panel (one screw), unscrewed the old flashlight housing (2 screws) and pulled it out. Carry out the installation process in reverse order. The whole process took no more than 10 minutes. Once installed, the TV took about a minute to warm up after a cold start. I replaced it because I heard a strange noise when I turned on the TV. Reminds me of a cricket, only much louder. Then the TV turned off. When I pulled the old one out, there was glass in the bulb. There was no glass in the TV itself. In general I am very satisfied with the purchase. For $35, I'm not expecting more than two years, but chances are I'll be pleasantly surprised. At the same time, I don't have to pay $700 to replace our 65-inch TV. I'd say $35 well spent.
