I live in an apartment and want recessed lighting, but obviously can't install regular lights. These headlights are a great alternative and work great! You have several settings. They are bright enough to light up a room, or dim for very low lighting like in a cinema. I like that they can be darkened. There are buttons for 100%, 50%, and 25%, but you can manually press +/- to set smaller increments. There is a manual switch next to the socket. For hanging, you have the option to unscrew the top and screw to the ceiling, then reattach the cover or use VERY strong velcro. I used glue for easier placement and speed. I placed my lights 28 inches apart. I bought an extension cord and had to use a few of these. I bought a $5 cable cover from a home depot to cover the cables to make them look smoother. The ONLY negative I can see is that the wires are not connected very well so when trying to position them they would come loose or the lights would flicker from time to time. I wouldn't let this become a deal breaker as it's a very simple fix for a great set of lights.
