I was able to attach it to an old bed frame in about 30 minutes using the hardware that came with it. I was only able to use one screw per side, but that's not because of the bracket - it's just very old bed construction. You should consider having SAE wrenches and a drill on hand as it is very strong if you follow the full instructions and screw the brackets to the headboard after it has been pressed firmly. I was able to salvage my son's 4n1 crib with this and a spare bed frame instead of spending over $100 on a bed frame with headboard hooks from a crib company. Turned out better than expected and the mounts are very solid. The instructions are clear you can return the product if your app doesn't work which is a nice touch from customer service. Order without fear.
