I was able to attach it to an old bed frame in about 30 minutes using the hardware that came with it. I was only able to use one screw per side, but that's not because of the bracket - it's just very old bed construction. You should consider having SAE wrenches and a drill on hand as it is very strong if you follow the full instructions and screw the brackets to the headboard after it has been pressed firmly.
