I travel a lot and it's hard to justify using my Sennheiser EW 100 ENG G3-G in conditions (like the African jungle). I used it straight away the day it came in the mail. (there is a video where I show a parallel audio test) Verdict: Great bang for your buck. It's not reality TV sound quality, but here are my key takeaways: Pros: - Works out of the box. (used with my GH5 camera) - Only needs AA batteries to operate - Long range - It's not a budget hit if someone drops it and breaks it. - Ability to control audio directly from the receiver (this is key if you're a prosumer who has a camera with no audio output) - Comes with lots of accessories like windscreens ("dead rats") and a 3.5mm -XLR connector supplied :- Plastic body vs. ENG G3 - Main microphone which is all metal. So be careful not to drop them. (although it comes with a carrying case so you should be able to travel with it comfortably) - Picks up a lot more ambient noise compared to the ENG G3-G. - The instructions are somewhat useless. It's pretty easy to set up, but don't waste time deciphering the manual. Hope that helps!
