Rigid, durable aluminum seat mount prevents the seat from moving forward or backward when the device is attached! The entire bar is best made to sit a few inches above the L-Bracket to allow clearance and "bend" away from the width of the seat to allow the seat to move once it is on its space is. This is my biggest design flaw. I do not recommend.

I bought a Macally unit to keep my GPS or phone in a convenient place while driving. I like that the unit is 24 inches long and the bottom is tubular because I think that makes it more stable. The flexible part is rigid enough to hold its shape without moving. The mount is easy to adjust and holds my device securely. very happy with my purchase.

For the most part this product was a good buy. The part that compresses the iPad or phone is cut off. It became a problem when you move it just write that the top part will fall off by hand. It was more of an annoyance than anything. But the quality of the product is excellent. The big problem I had was that the spot I had to fix the mechanism had to be lacerated in order for it to work. Fits under the car seat screw. It's the perfect length and while it's a little wobbly that's to be expected as the length is again perfect. I use it to hold my iPhone 7 Plus and I can easily mount it both horizontally and vertically. Also, it doesn't bother the passenger, which is good. I chose a cup holder mount as my cup holders are too far back for me to see my phone without turning my head. This mount keeps my phone in the perfect position while driving.

First, I like that it uses a small ball compatible with a large number of phone holders. I like the idea that half of it is hard because my other gooseneck (curved all the way down) moves too much. My problem is that I have to bend the black mounting plate, not the long aluminum base, because it broke off just above the bottom mounting screws. I'm a carpool driver. I almost bit the bullet and went with the RAM mount as none of the other tablet mounts with the Flash mount would hold up. I received it and it's stuck. Of course, it wobbles a bit due to the weight and vibration, but it's a lot better than I was hoping for. The only point of criticism is that the maximum device height leaves a lot to be desired. It's strong but starts to shake once plugged in (24 inches) but the good thing is that it's quiet even though it shakes. It comes with a top post clip to prevent rocking (2 clips, a bottom seat rail clip and a top post clip) but it had nothing to attach the top brace. Now for the easiest part: you have two wide metal brackets (but both were too big) to screw the bottom clamp to the bottom of the rack and then slide the clamp underneath (the screw that holds the seat in place). In general, the fastening is not bad. I tried installing it on the front left passenger side seat bolt on my 2017 Chevy Malibu, but the gap was too small for the aluminum track to attach to the bracket once installed. If the bracket were a bit bigger I could take it, but it is quite small compared to the threaded plate.
