I just installed a new keyboard tray and the "palm rest" (actually a palm rest) I used for my mouse stopped working with a new tray , so I needed a new option. I had an old keyboard stand that I tried, but it was too tall and didn't have enough room for my Orbweaver, so it wasn't a long-term option. For the record, I play MMOs and single player FPS (I didn't try it in an FPS environment as my MMO just got expanded - no time for anything else ^_^). far, it's pretty close to perfection. Pros: - Fits perfectly on my Razer Sphex V2 (see picture). I really couldn't ask for anything better - a lower profile. Perfect for the angle I use the mouse at and doesn't raise my palm too high. Just the right combination of softness and strength. I don't actually use the palm rest for my wrists, just my palms, and that's just enough not to be tight, but firm enough to provide the support I need. - Fabric cover - super soft with just enough glide to keep water out. Downward motion, but don't slide your hand back and forth all over the place. I didn't notice the dimples while playing, so I don't know if they actually do anything. IMPORTANT: It has a slight odor. But the only time I noticed it was when I took it out of the bag it landed in and placed it on my tray. After that I didn't notice anything on my hands and I hope this goes away soon. - I did not remove the plate that protects the non-slip base. My tray is raw wood and that kind of finish doesn't want to stay in place so I cut out a piece of non slip shelf/rug backing and placed it on top. It's not going anywhere. So I really can't speak to his endurance. (see pic) I haven't had it that long so I'll update if anything changes, but for now it's perfect for my needs.
