I don't use this with regular litter but rather look for a cheap alternative to filling my litter box. They were bought in combination with alternative pads and granular materials, but they just don't work. The smell is so strong that I have no doubt some cats will not like it. It's hard to describe the smell, but it doesn't feel like February or anything. This is similar to the chemical level and type of odor in the pool. Definitely better than the smell of cat pee! But not what I had hoped for. It also retains no odor for 2 days. In short, if you want to cover up the smell of cat pee, this is enough to keep up. You need to shake them regularly, at least every other day, in the mailbox. It is quite possible that there are cats who do not like this smell.
