This loupe has a nice glass lens and enough magnification for most applications. This is ideal for hands-free use when viewing jewelry and coins. The focus point feels natural and easy to find, and the field of view is relatively wide and distortion-free for a budget magnifier. The magnifying glass is also nice and compact and appears to be quite strong and durable. However, the quality control of the production could be better. The first device I received had a broken switch. It worked, but the "off" position doesn't work. I could play around with it and turn it off, but it wasn't easy. Also, the glass lens rattles a bit when I move it back and forth slightly. So I sent this block back and got the second one. The second had no issues with the switch or loose lens, but did have a few nicks and dents on the metal body and plastic filter covering the LED ring. There's also an extra UV LED underneath, and that light worked on the first loupe but not the second. I'll probably keep this unit on as it at least turns itself off and a non-working UV light isn't much of a problem as the ring of white and UV LEDs glows adequately. If this magnifier was in perfect condition I would recommend it. Maybe you'll be luckier than me and get a good device right away.
