I recently got a Tech Ham license and to celebrate I bought a Btech UV-5X3 tri-band radio and a Baofeng GT-3TP Mark III tri-power radio, to get started and I got this cable to get started programming them too. The radio end of the cable fits both radios well, some cables from other manufacturers seem to have this problem but not this one. The build quality of the cable looks pretty good although time will tell. I'm using Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and the driver loads automatically when I plug it into the USB port and I was able to connect to both radios. Use both CHIRP and Baofeng app for GT-3TP. The only problem I had wasn't a specific cable issue, it was a problem with USB devices on Windows and the radio started transmitting 5-10 seconds after turning it on. cable is connected. I've tried the steps on the miklor.com website regarding the "radio is transmitting while programming" issue, but some versions of the Prolific drivers actually caused it to go into transmit mode immediately after it was turned on, rather than within 5- 10 seconds Windows driver loading ten! Then I remembered an old troubleshooting tip when there were problems with USB devices and that was to go to the power management tab for the device and there disable everything and turn off all power device management. It's fixed! Now when I plug in both radios and turn them on, they stop transmitting when connected to the computer! Now to figure out what I actually need to program into the radios now that everything is working properly.
